Thanks for stopping by!  Here you will find my altered art, mixed
media and collage creations borne from my imagination and the
world around me.

Hello and thank you for stopping by.

I am a self-taught mixed media, collage and assemblage
artist.  My passions include altering books, journals,
canvases, tins and just about any media that
I can incorporate into my artistic creations.

My parents introduced us to the fine art masters at
an early age and today I enjoy the freedom that the
act of creating can bring.

I have taught on-line workshops and will be teaching
at Art Is You (www.art-is-you.com) in 2008 in Cromwell,
Connecticut and at Art & Soul  (www.artandsoulretreat.com)
in Hampton, Virginia in May 2009.  I love attending
art retreats as I find them very stimulating and empowering.

Sometimes I feel that my personal mission is to rescue
and incorporate into my art as many vintage cabinet
cards, postcards and tintypes as I possibly can.  I have
a love of all things vintage and incorporate those items
into our home and in gifts.  I am definitely a nostalgia
freak so I sometimes purchase items to use in my art
only to find that I have to go through a detaching
phase before I can use them and send them out
into the world.

My art has been published in the Artitude Zine,
Somerset Gallery and Somerset Weddings.  Our book
is finally published!  Please look for Exploring the
Latest Trends in Mixed Media at Amazon now.
I also blog, when time allows, and am currently
setting up a schedule that should appeal to the outsider
artist  in all of us.

Speaking of which, I blog at www.flatwoodsfolkart.typepad.com
when I am not working my necessary job, attending
events or creating art.

Please check back frequently as I feather this new nest
and fill it with my artistic expressions.

Namaste,

Lesley
